4th of July Parade . . .

The 4th of July, time for cookouts, fireworks and parades.  In my town, it is time for the North Middleborough 4th of July Parade!  Though I have lived in this town for almost 17 years, this was the first time I have attended the parade.

A crowd gathered early to watch the wide variety of marchers.  We found a shady spot under a tree and watched as bands, politicians, floats, antique cars and practically every tractor in town made their way past us.

Matthew enjoyed the parade as many of the participants gave out candy! He got so much that my bag was bulging by the end of the parade - he said he was a "candy magnet"!
Our District Attorney, Tim Cruz, passing out candy - Matthew would vote for him if he could because of the candy!

There were lots of cute dogs participating in the parade - so patriotic of them!

Since we live in a small, rural town - there were lots of tractors!

The funniest part of the parade was the route . . . it traveled one way down Plymouth Street, then turned and came back the same way so there were marchers in both directions of the street!

The fire trucks brought up the rear of the parade!

It was a great time - looking forward to next year!
